Social Projects
Social Projects
As Horme, we seek to generate a network to connect the largest number of social projects or programs working with Montessori in Mexico. This with the aim of encouraging its creation, development and promotion, connecting, supporting and promoting its independence and sustainability.
The initiatives we support are based on the following principles:
- Have a Montessorian vision of the child or person and their contribution to the social reform.
- Demonstrate understanding of Montessori principles and practices, understanding its essence with the needs of the specific community in mind.
- Adopt the participation and commitment of the community in the design and implementation of the project.
- Focus on the empowerment of the population and the sustainability of the project in the long term.
- Use an inclusive approach regarding gender, language, culture, age and socio-economic status.
- Understand the value of Montessori principles and the contribution they present to social change.
Also we seek that the initiatives we support cover as many areas as possible so that we find Montessori in every corner of our country. Such areas include and are not limited to:
- Populations in a situation of poverty or violence.
- Indigenous communities.
- Montessori expansion to public education.
- People deprived of liberty.
- Approaches for the elderly.
- Initiatives for teenagers.
- Support for women at risk during pre and post-natal periods.
- Inclusive education programs.
