In January 2022, the guides of the León Felipe Educational Community donated the necessary material to create the Practical Life area of this space. So that the children of Mesa Rica could start working at a Montessori space and learning new things.
Some León Felipe Educational Community Guides also donated their time, they dedicated a weekend to teach Silvia, the person in charge of the center, the correct use of materials.
By May 2022 27 children attend one day a week from 14:00 to 15:30.
The center is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We added different sensorial and mathematics material, as well as letters and sandpaper numbers. These favor the development of older children. In the month of July, we added an art shelf, more boards and new materials.
We still have a long way to go, however, this environment already offers more possibilities for the children of the community.
